The session will provide an overview of two UK government challenge programmes: the Prison Leavers’ Programme, a challenge programme run by PUBLIC in partnership with the UK Government’s Ministry of Justice; and Tech For Our Planet, a challenge programme run by PUBLIC in partnership with the UK Government’s Cabinet Office.
The Prison Leavers Programme is a £20 million cross-sector programme that will pilot new ways to break the cycle of crime. The project acts as the ‘innovation hub’ of the Reducing Reoffending strategy and will test a wide range of interventions at a small scale, building robust evidence to help us better understand what works, with the view to scale up the approaches that prove effective.
Tech For Our Planet is a challenge programme that will develop and pilot digital technology solutions to help us reach out net zero targets. The programme is focused on 6 key areas: driving behavioural change; sustainable farming; energy consumption; engaging communities; green finance; and aquatic ecosystem protection. Tech For Our Planet will encourage innovative technologies to tackle these key climate challenges, for a better future around the globe.
